Our Beliefs

Mission Statement

We are a community of believer who together seek to walk in the Light and to glorify God by living  under His Word.

Empowered by and yielded to the Holy Spirit we desire to reach people for Christ and equip them for service.  Thereby building up the Body of Christ and attaining unity in the fullness of Christ.

Our Beliefs

From the days of John Wesley, Methodists have believed in the authority of the Holy Scriptures.  At Bethesda, we seek to apply that Word to all we do.  Methodists beliefs, found in our Book of Discipline, include the following:

We Believe:

In the one true, holy and living God.

God reveals Himself as the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable.

In Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man.

In the Holy Spirit who convinces the world of sin, righteousness and of judgment.  He comforts, sustains and empowers the faithful.

Christ rose from the dead in His bodily form, ascended to Heaven and will return to judge everyone at the last day.

Sin corrupts every person and all have fallen short of His righteousness.

Through jesus christ we may be born again and make partakers of his nature.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we may be delivered from the power of sin and love God completely and our neighbors as ourselves.
